History of le Prieuré Hotel
Le Prieuré was the name given to Chamonix town centre in the Middle Ages. The original building was constructed in 1928 by Doctor Chabanolles as a home for children suffering from tuberculosis. The Morand family bought the building in 1960 and converted it into a hotel. The hotel was then bought by the Best Mont Blanc group. This group owns other hotels in the resort, including the Alpina Chamonix, the Croix Blanche and the Mercure Chamonix Centre. In 2015, the Chalet du Prieuré underwent major renovation work.
