Rafting in Chamonix

The rafting trips generally start from Les Praz de Chamonix and cover 8 to 10 km. The activity is recommended for children over 10. You’ll then continue downstream through Chamonix town center. You’ll then find yourself back in rougher waters, in splendid surroundings facing the Aiguilles and Mont Blanc. You can also head further down the valley to Passy. You’ll paddle down the Arve to Sallanches over a distance of around 8 km.

This rafting route is easier than the one in Chamonix and can be enjoyed by younger children aged 7-8 and over.

Rafting is a family activity, but it can also be enjoyed as a group activity. This could be a good idea if you’re organizing a seminar in Chamonix or a team-building activity in your company.

For the more athletic, head for Italy to tackle the Dora Baltea, the Aosta Valley’s indomitable river. It’s a 30-minute drive from Chamonix to the starting point. Rafting on the Dora Baltea is for sporty types only. There are several possible routes, depending on the group’s abilities and the river’s water level.
